Web hosting is the service which allocates space for customers to showcase their websites on web server that is connected to the internet 24 hours per day, 365 days per year.

Red Rhino operates our own dedicated web servers in major UK & Ireland purpose built, state-of-the-art, data centres. The servers have access to multiple routes to the Internet with feeds from separate providers to ensure maximum accessibility and online time.

Internet Never Sleeps

Your web site, which Red Rhino has designed, would be hosted on one of our dedicated servers offering fast, commercial web space and will more than cover any planned development of the site. The web space specification includes some additional services often charged as an optional extras by other companies.

Client-only web hosting

We only host web sites which we have designed and manage on behalf of clients. We do not offer public hosting to non-design clients. This strict policy in quite unusual in this industry, as many web designers normally host their clients’ sites on a shared-server along with other non-managed sites. However, our hosting policy ensures a very stable hosting environment (as we control what other web sites share the same web server as your site) and a much lower risk of any downtime.

24 Hour, 24/7 Technical Support

We work with an expert technical support team (who operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week) to provide you with a resilient network for the running of your web site and email accounts.

Hosting : Service Level Agreement

Our contract with our dedicated server host offers us a 99.9% Service Level Agreement for both web sites and email access but in practice, this figure has been in access of 99.95% for each of the last 8 years.

“LAMP” software hosting platform

For those with a technical interest, all our sites are hosted on our own dedicated web servers, using what is known as the “LAMP” platform system (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP). This very powerful software configuration is the most common hosting/development platform on the Internet.

Some of the advantages of using the “LAMP” platform as a web server is that it runs with much lower overhead than most Microsoft solutions, most of the components were originally designed with web site development as the focus, it is very widely support in the open source community, and it is considered to be high performance and very stable.
